Shower Glass Thickness Guide: 6mm vs 8mm vs 10mm
Choosing shower door thickness affects safety, hardware cost and the look of the bathroom. Here is what 17+ years of shower glass export experience says.
6mm — Framed Showers
Best for: framed doors where the frame carries the load.
Cost: lowest.
Note: always tempered to EN 12150; flex is noticeable without frame support.
8mm — The Industry Standard for Semi-Frameless
Best for: semi-frameless doors and fixed panels. Strong enough for most hardware, good balance of cost and feel.
Most requested thickness in our export orders.
10mm — Premium Frameless
Best for: frameless doors, heavy pivot hinges, walk-in screens.
Rigidity: excellent — minimal flex, premium feel.
Note: heavier doors need quality wall anchors; verify wall material on site. All thicknesses: fully tempered to EN 12150 / ASTM C1048, polished edges, hinge holes and handle cutouts machined to your hardware drawings. Clear, ultra-clear low-iron, frosted and patterned options available.

Q: MOQ for shower glass?
A: From 100 m²; mixed sizes in one container are welcome.
